Louise Morrison

Artistic Director

Louise Morrison joined the Nashville Symphony in 2007. A native of Dublin, Ireland, she began her violin studies at age 8 and graduated from Dublin College, winning the institution's Gold Medal for Highest Performance as well as first prizes in numerous national competitions. 

Following post-graduate studies at Indiana University with Paul Biss, she began her professional career as the first violinist in the Avila String Quartet and remains an active chamber musician. Morrison has performed solo and chamber recitals, as well as national radio broadcasts, in Europe and the U.S. In 2022, she was appointed Artistic Director of Nashville's Grammy Award-nominated Alias Chamber Ensemble.

Ms. Morrison is a faculty member of the Nashville Symphony's Accelenderado program and maintains a private teaching studio. She spends her summers as a member of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra.

Kat Jones

AIC Director

Kat Jones has been a lifelong musician, as well as an installation and performance artist, with additional experience in the nonprofit sector.

Artistically, she focuses on themes of healing through trauma by way of using musical, theatrical, installation-based, and scientific collaborations to create healing and community-driven experiences and spaces.  Kat weaves her wide vocal range into a cross between flamenco, punk rock, and opera, while encouraging her audiences to engage with her in a variety of performance spaces. She has embarked on ambitious collaborations with NASA Physicist Kelly Snook, and Rebekah Hampton Barger of aerial dance company, FALL. Regardles of venue or medium, Kat’s goal is to challenge and inspire her audiences toward inward and social change.

As a nonprofit professional, Kat comes with 8 years of experience as a Developer, Community Organizer, Executive Director, and Nonprofit Consultant. Her goal is to drive artistic organizations toward the best possible fulfillment of their vision while in service to the greater Nashville community, and to aid in systemic, organizational, and financial growth as they serve the public.
