ALIAS’s latest musical release — Invierno Porteno debuted on June 30th.

Recorded at W.O. Smith School, this captivating tango piece by Astor Piazzolla was heavily influenced by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It features two of our ALIAS Ensemble members, Sari Reist, cello and Alessandra Volpi, piano, as well as a guest musician, Christina McGann, violin.

We launched our new series of recorded performances, ALIAS Live, this past May! New performances will be released every other month on all of the major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music (and all your favorite streaming platforms).

On the heels of our four successful studio albums, from 2011's GRAMMY-nominated Frank: Hilos to 2019's Rhythms, Rivers & Roads, this series of releases will feature individual works, recorded live in concert by ALIAS Chamber Ensemble musicians and guests.

Glory! Oh My Soul! by Colin Lett - World Premiere Live performance is streaming everywhere now!

Glory! Oh My Soul!  by Colin Lett (written for high voice, piano, and strings) was recorded live at the world premiere performance by musicians of ALIAS on November 1, 2022 in Nashville. The performers were Alysha Hinton, soprano; Melissa Rose, piano; Louise Morrison and Alison Gooding Hoffman, violin; Anthony Parce, viola; Nicholas Gold, cello. 

Colin Lett is a minister, choral conductor, and composer. His arrangements are published in the African American Church Music Series of GIA Publications, Inc.

The piece comprises a newly composed verse in a medley of Negro Spirituals “Oh Glory” and “I Got a New Name”. Mr. Lett composed this piece in the aftermath of his mother’s death.
