		<title>ALIAS announces major commission and first-ever recording</title>
		<description><![CDATA[ALIAS is proud to announce the group's major new project featuring Guggenheim Fellowship- and Latin Grammy-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank as the centerpiece.  The overarching project, to take place in 2010, includes a commission of a quartet (for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano) by composer Gabriela Lena Frank, through partnerships with Vanderbilt University and The Schubert Club in St. Paul, Minn.

The project also includes the first-ever ALIAS recording, which will feature Ms. Frank’s chamber works for NAXOS, on its American Classics label...]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[ALIAS returns to the stage at Blair School of Music&#8217;s Turner Recital Hall on Friday, May 14 to close out its 2009/10 season. ALIAS’ Spring Concert, which begins at 8 p.m., features two works by composer and Guggenheim Fellow Gabriela Lena Frank, including her acclaimed string quartet Quijotadas. 		<title>ALIAS receives $6,000 NEA grant</title>
		<description><![CDATA[ALIAS Chamber Ensemble is pleased to announce a $6,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for &#8220;Mestiza Music in Music City,&#8221; an educational and outreach project with composer Gabriela Lena Frank and ALIAS.
The project is one component of the GLF Project, and will feature a series of educational and outreach programs based in Nashville’s Hispanic community during Hispanic Cultural Heritage Month, from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
