Nashville, TN (June 15, 2015) – ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, a Nashville-based non-profit organization dedicated to innovative repertoire, artistic excellence and a desire to give back to the community through financial support of other area non-profits, has named Heather Lefkowitz as its new executive director. Lefkowitz, a long-time Nashville resident with deep roots in the non-profit sector, succeeds Jim Robert, who retired in February.
“Both the Board of Directors and musicians of ALIAS are thrilled to have Heather as our new executive director. She has a long history of success in working with non-profits and a deep familiarity with both the Nashville arts community and ALIAS. In fact, Heather was one of our first season ticket holders,” said Georgeann Burns, board president. “Heather is ready, willing and able to champion ALIAS’ goals of presenting new and seldom heard chamber works; supporting area non-profits; and presenting music education programming in Metro Nashville schools. As we look to expand our programs and reach, I am confident her experience and expertise will serve us well.”
“I’m delighted to partner with the talented musicians and dedicated board members of ALIAS, an arts organization I’ve long admired,” said Lefkowitz. “ALIAS’ mission encapsulates so much of what I love about this city: artistic excellence, giving back to the community, and sharing gifts and knowledge with others. My hope is to support and extend the good work that’s already being done, developing new creative partnerships so that more and more Nashvillians benefit directly and indirectly from our music.”
