New ALIAS, Blair School of Music partnership

In January 2010, ALIAS Chamber Ensemble was named a Professional Performance Partner of Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. Under the terms of the partnership, ALIAS will continue to perform at Blair three times each season. In addition, Blair students will enjoy myriad new opportunities — including free tickets to all ALIAS performances — which will be determined and announced in the coming months.

“ALIAS has a long-standing relationship with Blair, and we are excited to begin this new level of collaboration,” said ALIAS Artistic Director Zeneba Bowers. “We hope to use this residency to bring our unique style of programming to a broader audience, and to expand our Education and Community Programs.”

“The Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University is proud to sponsor ALIAS Chamber Ensemble as a resident performing ensemble,” the school said in a January 2010 press announcement. “After a long-standing sponsorship relationship between Blair and ALIAS, this residency/partnership is a natural and fitting outgrowth of both the level of quality and community outreach that ALIAS presents as artists and of the integral role that many of Blair’s own faculty play in chamber music performance in the Nashville region.

“ALIAS is the second area professional not-for-profit music organization to participate in this kind of partnership with the Blair School. We look forward to many years of exploration and expansion of the inherent possibilities presented to both organizations.”
