Michelle Lin Doane coordinates ALIAS’ education and community programs and works in conjunction with Chris Farrell, the musician representative, to develop the programs each season. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance and a Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Her primary teachers were Natalya Antonova, Logan Skelton, Claire Aebersold Neiweem, and Ralph Neiweem. While living in Michigan, she taught at the Chelsea Center for the Arts and maintained a private studio. After working at the Nashville Symphony as the Education and Community Engagement Manager for 5 1/2 years, Michelle decided to return to school, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Education degree program at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development, where she is focusing on early childhood education and education reform and policy.
